Camouflage, Areolas and Dark Scar Treatment
1. Keep Area Clean:

Do not wash with soap for 4 days.

Avoid rubbing the skin vigorously for at least 10 days.
2. Redness or Swelling:
-
Some redness or swelling may occur for 2-3 days.
-
1 in 25 people may experience light bruising, which will disappear quickly.
-
If swelling occurs, apply an ice pack for 10-minute sessions.
-
Light bruising may continue for several days.
3. Avoid Trauma:
-
Do not rub or traumatize the procedure area while healing, as this may remove pigment along with crusting tissue.
4. Avoid Certain Activities:
-
For 10 days, avoid contact with animals, gardening, sun, sauna, jacuzzi, chlorine pools, ocean, and steam rooms.

For at least 30 days, avoid swimming in pools or hot tubs. If necessary, keep the area dry and apply a light coat of petroleum jelly/ointment before entering.
5. Itching and Flaking:

Itching may occur after approximately 3 days, indicating the flaking process has started.

Apply ice to alleviate itching and use aftercare ointment or Aquaphor thereafter.
-
Do not pick at the flakes; allow them to flake naturally to avoid insufficient pigment areas.
6. Avoid Certain Products:
-
Do not use products containing AHA’s (e.g., glycolic, lactic acids) on the procedure area, as they will fade the pigment.
-
Always check product labeling.
7. Makeup and Washing:
-
Do not apply makeup to the tattooed area for at least 5 days.
-
Do not wash or use makeup remover on the procedure area for 48 hours following the procedure.

Use a clean cotton swab to apply healing ointment or Aquaphor 2-3 times daily for 7-10 days. After the 10 days, use Skin & Shades healing serum or coconut oil until completely healed.

Paramedical and camouflage procedures are multi-step; final results cannot be determined until touch-up is completed.

The procedure area may remain lighter or darker throughout the healing process—this is normal.

Schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the area, whether or not a touch-up is needed.
9. Touch-up Appointment:

One free touch-up visit is included and must be completed 8-12 weeks after the initial procedure.

Missing this appointment will result in an additional charge.
10. Long-term Care:

Once healed, apply SPF 30 sunscreen to the procedure area to preserve color.
Signs and Symptoms of Infection

Elevated body temperature.

Purulent drainage from the procedure site (green/yellow and foul-smelling).
